Our Viognier is a soft yellow color which really pops if you place a white sheet of paper behind it (which all fancy wine tasters do). It has a great nose, a lovely floral smell unlike some whites which smell like nothing. On the palate you will taste tropical fruits, peach, pineapple, apricot, and many of your favorite island tastes. As fickle as these grapes are to grow, they make amazing wine so the blood, sweat and tears are worth it!

Toll Gate is not a regularly open winery. While we don’t operate a public tasting room, we do host occasional private events throughout the year. You can sign up for updates to be notified when an event or exclusive visit opportunity is available, or just email us and we can arrange a time to meet up at the Farm!
We sell at the Rapp Farmers market one Saturday per month and the Brew Shop in Arlington also carries a couple of our labels. Our wines are available for online ordering through our website. Orders can be picked up at one of our three designated delivery points (Toll Gate Farm in Flint Hill, Arlington, Rapp Farmers Market in Sperryville), or delivered for free within same areas if you purchase one case (12 bottles) or more.
At this time, we only fulfill orders within the state of Virginia. We focus on small-batch, handcrafted wines, and prefer to maintain quality and compliance with local delivery standards.
All our wines are estate-grown and produced in Flint Hill, VA, using sustainable practices and a heritage-first approach. Our small-batch process emphasizes character, simplicity, and quality—without pretense or excess.

Toll Gate Farm dates back to 1750, making it one of the oldest properties in the area. Its name comes from a historic toll station along what’s now Ben Venue Road. Over centuries, it’s been a working farm, a family home, and now, a vineyard growing award-winning wines on land full of stories.
We keep things honest—no fancy foils, no ornate labels. What matters is what’s inside. Our wines reflect the land and the labor, not luxury trends. The design is intentional: humble, handmade, and true to our roots.
